Nana's Story
At the heart of Nana’s Jamaican Rum Cakes is a living legend—Nana herself, whose passion for baking has been warming hearts and homes for decades. Born and raised in St Ann Jamaica, Nana learned the art of baking from her own grandmother, spending countless afternoons in a kitchen filled with the comforting scent of brown sugar, island spices, and rich Jamaican rum.
What began as simple joy soon became her life’s work. She then attended Home Economics School in Kingston, Jamaica, after which Nana started baking rum cakes for family gatherings, church events, and local celebrations, earning a reputation for her irresistible cakes that were always moist, flavorful, and full of soul. Her signature touch—a carefully balanced blend of aged Jamaican rum and love—turned every slice into a taste of home.
Today, Nana continues to bake with the same dedication and warmth that first inspired her. She still oversees every batch, ensuring each cake carries her signature flavor and the spirit of Jamaica itself. Surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Nana’s kitchen remains a place of laughter, love, and tradition.
